“When something bad happens, you have three choices. You can let it DEFINE YOU, let it DESTROY YOU, or you can let it STRENGTHEN YOU!” – Unknown
Although, I have been told that I am “over positive” and see the world through “Rose colored lenses,” we all go through a bad day. There are moments I feel sad, lonely, upset, frustrated, and angry. And of course, there are times I just go to a room and yell to the top of my lungs, then once I let it out and take a few deep breaths….I’M GOOD.
“A bad day only lasts 24 hours.” – Unknown
I tend not to stay in that ” downward spiral mode” too long because it is not productive. Thus, to attack the downward spiral, I take a step back, reflect, and see what I can learn from the moment. For the most part, I learned that we have control of our thoughts and attitude and that is what will shape our experience.
Reflections:
- What do you do to cope with a bad day?
- What makes the day bad?
- Who controls your definition of a bad day?
- What makes a bad day last shorter or longer?
